In a bid aimed at fast tracking the country's skills development and job
creation agenda with a core mandate of alleviating poverty and halving
unemployment by 2014, the Black Management Forum (BMF) will be holding its
annual conference in Durban on Friday, 13 October 2006.
Apart from the conference theme 'Growing Black Skills and Capital in a
Globalising Economy, Opportunities and Challenges for South Africa,' other
pertinent issues that are subject for discussion will include: skills
development, South Africa's competitiveness in the global market place, Broad
Based Black Economic Empowerment and African leadership.
Labour Minister Membathisi Mdladlana who is scheduled to deliver the keynote
address will particularly talk about the strategic review of the Sector
Education and Training Authorities (Seta's) within the context of Accelerated
and Shared Growth Initiative for South Africa (AsgiSA).
