The Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Malusi Gigaba will tomorrow deliver
Identity Documents (IDs) to juveniles at the Barberton prison, in
Mpumalanga.
This activity forms part of the Deputy Ministerâs three-day outreach
programme to the province. The visit will also include a series of meetings
with stakeholders to discuss access to Home Affairs services and the role that
stakeholders can play in service delivery.
The Deputy Minister will also visit the St Johns Mission on Friday which is
an orphanage for children affected and infected by HIV/AIDS. There, he will
also donate toys and blankets to the needy orphans.
Highlight of the activities on Friday will be the launch of the Child Online
system at Barberton hospital.
Meanwhile, Mr Gigaba will conclude his visit later that afternoon by
offering services such as taking applications for IDs, birth and death
certificates at the Mobile Unit of Home Affairs in Lowscreek, outside of
Barberton.
