young singer TK
28 February 2006
The Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Malusi Gigaba has learnt with shock and
great sadness about the untimely passing away of top Rhythm and Blues singer,
Tsakane Mhinga, popularly known as TK.
Mr Gigaba sends his condolences to the family and friends of the late
talented singer. âTo millions of her fans and the youth in particular, who
idolised her, do not give up. Do whatever it takes to emulate the immense
success that TK had achieved in the music industry".
He added âTK was an inspiration to the South African youth and her talent
epitomised the dreams and capabilities of the youth in our country and
elsewhere. As a young person TK has contributed so much by just achieving her
dreams of being a superstar. Had death not robbed us of this talent, I have no
doubt we could have been blessed with much more of her greatness,â says the
Deputy Minister.
âI firmly believe that with so much abundance of opportunities for young
people in our country, this generation has choices. One of those choices is to
be something or be nothing. TK made the right choice by being somebody,â
emphasised Mr Gigaba.
As we celebrate the 30 year Anniversary of the Soweto Youth uprisings, we
are within our right to proclaim that TK was a legend in the making, we will
always cherish her memory and honour her legacy,â said the Deputy Minister.
âEtlela hi kurhula Nâwa-Mhingaâ.
