28 September 2007

The Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Mr Malusi Gigaba today rounded up his
two-day Imbizo programme in Botlokwa Limpopo province, where he promised the
community better Home Affairs services in future.

Mr Gigaba who was joined by the Mayor of Molemole Municipality Ms Maite
Mohale and Chief George Ramokgopa and other local leaders said that the old
Home Affairs has created problems to the citizens and the new Home Affairs will
ensure better services.

"The department is currently upgrading its systems which will make it
possible for all South Africans to receive a first-class service," he said.

Yesterday the department held a special Imbizo with the farm workers in
Mooketsi near Tzaneen. Amongst others, the farm workers raised their concerns
with regards to access to Home Affairs services. Home Affairs officials were on
site during the Imbizo to take applications from the community members.
