The Department of Land Affairs in Limpopo province cordially invites members
of the media to the launch of an information campaign to combat illegal farm
evictions in the province.
The objectives of the campaign are:
* to educate farm dwellers (farm workers, farm occupiers, farming household
and labour tenants) about their tenure rights in order to prevent illegal
evictions
* to raise awareness of land redistribution programme - Land Redistribution for
Agricultural Development (LRAD), which offers opportunities to farm dwellers to
own a piece of land
* to create awareness on the roles and responsibilities of all stakeholders in
the land and agrarian sector in the fight against farm dwellers' land rights
infringements.
The campaign, organised by the department in partnership with Lephalale
Local Municipality and Nkuzi Development Association, a non-governmental
organisation lobbying for land rights, is expected to be attended by more than
