The Ministry of Labour has appointed Ms Zolisa Sigabi as its new
spokesperson.
Ms Sigabi, who today resumed her official duties in the Department of
Labour, is a veteran radio and television journalist and communications expert
with about 20 years experience.
At the time of joining the Department, she had been working as South African
Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) Television News Assignments editor in the
Eastern Cape.
A former Labour Department Provincial Communications Officer, Ms Sigabi is
also a board member of the Eastern Cape Heroes Park Foundation and the
Masimanyane Women's Support Centre.
She is also a Southern African Advanced Education Project fellow which
awarded her an internship with the British Broadcasting Corporation in London
in 1995, as well as a CNN Internship in Atlanta, US in 2000.
Labour Minister Membathisi Mdladlana today expressed delight that Ms
Sigabi's coming on board with her impeccable credentials will further enhance
the Department's resolve to inform the public about the services we render as
well as making them know their rights.
