16 February 2007

The Compensation Fund's Services Imbizo in KwaZulu-Natal has paid out a
whopping R13,4 million in just 15 days, on healthcare provider case
settlements. This represents an average of 300 accounts which the Fund
processed over the 15 day period.

This emerged at a two days workshop which took place in Durban this week,
and which focused on key business goals of the Compensation Fund such as
reducing medical and compensation backlogs by paying compensation and
authorising medical accounts at a local level (regions and provinces).

Meanwhile, another service Imbizo will be held in Limpopo province on
Monday, 26 February.2007.
