Labour to host debate on labour market policies, 26 Jun

All set for labour market roundtable sequel kick off

15 June 2006

In a follow-up to last month’s highly successful and well-attended Labour
Ministerial roundtable debate on labour market policies, social partners,
government, business, labour and community are gearing themselves up for round
two of the summit on 26 June.

Ready

The Labour Market Roundtable Debate gatherings provide stakeholders with an
opportunity to debate key issues affecting South Africa’s labour market on a
regular basis.

While at the 11 May meeting, experts and other participants pondered at
length, among others, whether the existing labour market policies are impeding
or enhancing small business development and job creation, constituencies will
this time round be deliberating interventions and a way forward.

The Nedlac constituencies participating are expected to present their
individual analysis of the status quo, as well as proposals for possible action
so as to collectively produce short, medium and long term interventions.
