A whooping R3,1 million has been paid to the beneficiaries of the
Compensation Fund (CF) and service providers during the first round of the
services imbizo in Port Elizabeth.
This poses a challenge to a similar event taking place in East London this
week. Many clients of the fund, especially medical providers, are continuing to
take advantage of the event. At the end of the imbizo, the CF team will proceed
to Mthatha where it will be based until 5 April 2007.
The team seeks to process all outstanding payments and answer all queries
related to the Compensation for Occupational injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA),
1993 (Act 130 of 1993).
Clients of the Compensation Fund who cannot attend these Imbizos are
encouraged to visit the nearest local Labour Centre where our staff will gladly
process the claims and/or COIDA enquiries.
