As a showcase of adherence to transparency and principles of good governance
practices, the Department of Labour (DoL) is determined to set the record
straight on the following key issues. The audit qualifications emanating from
the current and previous Annual Reports, the national Skills Fund, the DoL and
the disclaimer which is derived from the Sheltered Employment Factories.
The department will also present the status quo pertaining to the
achievements and challenges facing the Unemployment Insurance and the
Compensation Funds. It is hoped that the envisaged media briefing will settle
the dust and correct some distortions as far as these issues are concerned.
