Minister on visit to East Asia

3 July 2007

The Minister for Agriculture and Land Affairs, Lulama Xingwana will visit
and hold bilateral meetings with her counterparts in South Korea and Malaysia
next week from Monday, 9 July 2007 to Saturday, 14 July 2007.

South Korea and Malaysia have been prioritised in the strategy of the
Ministry as future markets for our agriculture products. Minister Xingwana, who
will be leading a high level delegation to these countries, will make a strong
statement about the commitment of our country to enhance and broaden
agriculture development and trade relations.

The Minister's visit is also crucial to realise our long-term objective of
being a supplier of choice in East Asia. Meanwhile, Minister Xingwana will also
travel to our neighbouring country, Lesotho, to sign a Memorandum of
Understanding on Co-operation in the Field of Agriculture with the Minister of
Agriculture and Food Security, honourable Lesole Mokoma on Thursday, 5 July
