It was with great regret that the Minister for Agriculture and Land Affairs,
Ms Lulu Xingwana learnt of the killing of Mr Kenneth Lionel Eva, a farm manager
in the Melmoth area in KwaZulu-Natal.
Any loss of life is one death too many. Violence from any quarter of our
society and whatever the circumstances needs to be condemned in the strongest
terms, the Minister said. She went on to state that as South Africans we
needed to stick to negotiations to settle land disputes rather than resorting
to violence.
The Minister would like to extend her sincere condolences to the Eva family
and hopes that the law shall take its course and that incidences of this nature
shall not happen again in future.
