Housing Minister, Dr Lindiwe Sisulu, last year announced the establishment
of the first housing technology Innovation Hub in Tshwane. This Innovation Hub,
jointly sponsored by the National Homebuilders Registration Council (NHBRC) and
ABSA Bank, is aimed at giving an opportunity to developers and construction
companies to introduce other forms of building materials in the affordable
housing market.
In Tshwane at Block XX of the Soshanguve Township developers and
construction companies have been building houses using different materials
other than brick and mortar to show cases other form of traditional and modern
technologies available to build homes for the affordable housing market.
The Minister accompanied by all Housing MECs will visit the innovation hub
to view for the first time a display of new technology and traditional building
methods. The Minister and MECs of housing will interact with developers, visit
each house and later host a media interaction.
Members of the media are invited to join the Minister and her delegation at
the Innovation Hub under the following condition:
