The Director-General of the Department of Communications, Ms Lyndall
Shope-Mafole will lead the Department's presentation of its 2005/06 annual
report to the Portfolio Committee on Communications on Friday, 27 October 2006.
Ms Lyndall Shope-Mafole will present the Department's deliverables during the
2005/06 financial year and progress on the strategic objectives of the
Department.
The presentation will be held as follows:

The Department's strategic objectives are grouped in terms of the five focus
areas which in turn are based on the government's priorities. The five areas
are:
* achieve high rates of investment in the economy
* contribute to the competitiveness of the economy
* broaden participation in the economy
* contribute to the State's capacity to deliver
* contribute to a better world.
