The Director-General of the Department of Provincial and Local Government Ms
Lindiwe Msengana-Ndlela wishes to congratulate Ms Xoliswa Sibeko on her new
appointment as the Director-General of the Sport and Recreation South
Africa.
Ms Sibeko's appointment was approved by Cabinet on Wednesday, 8 August 2007.
She was the Chief Director responsible for Public Participation and Empowerment
in the Department of Provincial and Local Government since 2004.
Ms Sibeko's appointment to head one of the critical departments to the 2010
Federation International Football Association (Fifa) Soccer World Cup and sport
in general is welcomed by the department.
"We are proud that the Department of Provincial and Local Government, as a
national government department continues to create an environment where leaders
can grow," said Ms Msengana-Ndlela.
"We hope she will add her mark in strengthening the Sports and Recreation
South Africa to deliver on its mandate," she added.
The department would like to thank Ms Sibeko for her contribution to the
growth of the department over the past years.
"The Department of Provincial and Local Government is grateful for the
service Ms Sibeko has rendered to the department and the people of South
Africa. We wish her success in her new and important role," concluded Ms
Msengana-Ndlela.
