L Msengana-Ndlela on appointment of Ekurhuleni City Manager and
SALGA-KwaZulu-Natal CEO

Department of Provincial and Local Government (DPLG) Deputy
Directors-General set to take up key positions within the Local Government
Sector

The Director-General of the Department of Provincial and Local Government,
Ms Lindiwe Msengana-Ndlela, wishes to confirm the appointments of Mr Patrick
Flusk as City Manager of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality in Gauteng and Ms
Mosa Molapo as Chief Executive Officer of South African Local Government
Association (SALGA)-KwaZulu-Natal, referred to as KwaZulu-Natal Local
Government Association (KWANALOGA).

They are currently Deputy Directors-General for Free Basic Services and
Infrastructure as well as the Urban and Rural Development respectively.

These appointments are a contribution to efforts that seek to support
municipalities. Both Mr Flusk and Ms Molapo will take up their positions to
continue to contribute to the local government sector.

“We are proud that the DPLG, as a national government department has created
an environment of leadership growth, which we have hope will contribute in the
strengthening the administrative capacity of Ekurhuleni Metro and SALGA,” Ms
Msengana-Ndlela said.

“The DPLG is particularly grateful for the service Mr Flusk and Ms Molapo
have rendered the Department and the Department looks forward to working with
them as they continue to serve the people of South Africa,” she added.

The DPLG would like to thank Mr Flusk and Ms Molapo for their contribution
to the growth of the Department. Msengana-Ndlela wished them success in their
new and important roles.
