The Minister of Water Affairs and Forestry, Mrs Lindiwe Hendricks, has
announced in Pretoria that the Director-General of the Department, Mr Jabu
Sindane, will be leaving the department with effect from 31 August 2007.
Mr Sindane joined the Department of Water Affairs and Forestry as a Deputy
Director-General responsible for regions and operations, and was later
appointed the Director-General of the department.
Minister Hendricks has expressed her appreciation and gratitude to Mr
Sindane for the contribution that he has made to the Department of Water
Affairs and Forestry and the Government of the Republic of South Africa, and
wished him well in his future career.
Minister Hendricks has announced the appointment of Dr Moshibudi Rampedi,
the current Deputy Director-General for Forestry, as the Acting
Director-General with effect from 1 September 2007.
Minister Hendricks wishes to give assurance that service delivery of the
department will continue without interruption.
