KwaZulu-Natal Education on impact of strike

Report on impact of strike action

1 June 2007

Schools in KwaZulu-Natal reported a non-attendance of between 90% and 100%
with the Sisonke and Pinetown districts topping the list with a 100%
non-attendance. As a result many schools were forced to close early.

Service centres, district offices, circuit offices and the head office were
also affected by low attendance and had to operate with a skeleton staff.
Picketing in towns and at offices was also common.
