Child Friendly Schools Conference

How can schools become warm friendly places and stimulating environments
that are conducive to learning? Will gender sensitive schools prevent
violence?

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education in partnership with United Nations
International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) will host the Child Friendly
Schools Conference on 29 to 30 November 2006.

Venue: Cecil Emmet Hall, Vryheid

We invite our media partners to learn more about the successful UNICEF model
that has been implemented in the Vryheid District, Paulpietersburg.

Commissions will discuss:

* safe and protective schools
* right-based schools
* gender sensitive schools
* healthy schools
* partnerships (private and public)
* effective schools
* support and sustaining the child friendly schools programme.
