KwaZulu-Natal Arts to launch short films, 8 Feb

Short films shot in rural Zululand will make their debut at the
Durban Playhouse tomorrow evening (Thursday) at a Visual Arts and Poetry
launch.

7 February 2007

The two films (captured on DVD) are the work of the Zululand Film Forum,
which began a series of workshops and shoots last July, taking aspiring actors,
scriptwriters and film camera crew to Nongoma, Vryheid, Ulundi, Pongola and
Empangeni.

The Forum's programme is supported by the Zululand regional Cluster of the
KwaZulu-Natal Department of Arts, Culture and Tourism.

The launch, which will be attended by the MEC for Arts, Culture and Tourism,
Weziwe Thusi, will also feature a poetry CD, portraits and beadwork. Poetry
readers will also give a live rendition.

The function is at 18h00 in the foyer of the Playhouse. Programme Director
will be Dudu Khoza, of Ukhozi FM.
