Gauteng MEC for Agriculture, Conservation and Environment, Khabisi Mosunkutu
will host a public meeting in Hammanskraal on Friday, 23 March 2007.
The meeting will discuss and evaluate four existing Household Food Projects
that the department is running as part of poverty alleviation programmes in the
area. The department spent over R6 million on these projects. The MEC will also
speak on 500 household food gardens to be launched by the department.
Representatives from Local Government, the Department of Housing and the
South African Police Service are expected to respond to queries on outstanding
matters in relation to their service delivery. In addition, the national
Department of Housing will register identity documents for the community of
Hammanskraal.
