The South African Social Security Agency invites members of the media to the
opening of its new offices in Lellie Street, Niewoudtville, next to the VGK
church. The Deputy Minister of Social Development will conduct the opening
ceremony from 10h00.
Niewoudtville is situated at the southern part of the Northern Cape and is
mainly serviced by the town of Calvinia, which makes the Sassa turn around time
to be prolonged. The opening of these offices will further enhance service
delivery by making it possible for an application for grants to be made and
approved on the same day in line with the Sassa standard.
At 14h00, the Deputy Minister will visit the Loerisfontein town to hand out
same day grant approval certificates, so that affected residents can be paid
out in the next payment cycle in August 2007.
