Survivor
15 November 2007
The National Commissioner of the South African Police Service (SAPS),
Commissioner Jackie Selebi, on behalf of all members, would like to
congratulate Superintendent Lorette Mostert on becoming South Africa's latest
"Survivor".
Many members of SAPS top management have, over the weeks, commented on
Superintendent Mostert's honesty, integrity, discipline, respect and pride.
"These attributes are exactly what we look for in police officers and we
thank Lorette for flying the South African Police Service's flag high
throughout this competition. We are all very proud of her and applaud her for
being an inspiration to others," said Commissioner Selebi.
Superintendent Mostert, stationed in Mpumalanga, has been invited to visit
the National Commissioner and his Deputies at police headquarters in Pretoria
early next week.
Deputy National Commissioner Mala Singh, a founder member of the SAPS
Women's Network, said: "Lorette, with her courage, fortitude and generous
personality, can certainly motivate other women in the police. Through the
Women's Network we would like her to share her extraordinary experiences in
Malaysia with her colleagues in blue and advise how her training and experience
as a police official helped her through the competition."
Well done, Superintendent Mostert, you're our champion.
