Organisation (WHO) tuberculosis (TB) expert from Geneva

The media is invited to a press conference, to officially announce the
duties of the WHO TB expert from Geneva, who is here to provide technical
assistance and advice to strengthen the country's response to the challenge of
TB, especially Multi-Drug Resistant (MDR) and Extreme Drug Resistant (XDR)
TB.
The Department of Health had requested the assistance of a technical advisor
from the WHO after the emergence of XDR TB, to be placed at national level and
provide support to all provinces, with an objective of building local capacity
in the management of drug resistant TB.
Officials from the WHO Geneva and WHO South Africa will attend the press
conference. The press conference will be conducted as follows:
