Closing ceremony of the 16 Days of Activism campaign

Northern Cape, Upington: The Minister of Transport, Jeff Radebe, will
officially receive the torch of peace from the Honourable Deputy Minister of
Provincial and Local Government, Ms N Hangana, at the closing ceremony of the
16 Days of Activism against the abuse of women and children campaign in
Upington.

The handover of the torch marks the continuation of the 16 Days of Activism
campaign into the Department of Transport Arrive Alive road safety campaign,
whose objective is to change people's behaviour to obey the rules and
regulations of the road.

Attending the event will be a host of dignitaries including the Speaker of
Parliament, the Premier of the Northern Cape and MECs responsible for various
portfolios.
