Western Cape: Transport Minister Jeff Radebe will give a keynote address
during the scrapping of old and the introduction of new taxi vehicles as part
of the Taxi Recapitalisation Programme (TRP) to be held in Cape Town. The event
will also be attended by amongst other dignitaries by, Western Cape Premier,
Ebrahim Rasool, Western Cape Transport MEC, Marius Fransman; Western Cape
Community Safety MEC, Leonard Ramatlakane, representatives from the taxi
industry, manufacturers, the business community and members of the public.
The TRP is a programme of government whose objective is to introduce a
safer, reliable, affordable and sustainable public transport system in South
Africa. New taxi vehicles, approved by the South African National Standards
will be introduced during the event.
