Festive Season

Transport Minister, Jeff Radebe will officially announce the "Operation
Safer Festive Season 2007" as part of the Arrive Alive Campaign of the
Department of Transport.
The initiative is part of the phased roll out of the Road Traffic Management
Corporation's (RTMC) Rolling Enforcement Plan.
Through the Enforcement Plan, now in phase three of implementation, the RTMC
and the department will be out in full force to remind, support and encourage
road users and holidaymakers to observe traffic rules and regulations in order
to be safe on the roads.
Enforcement agencies will conduct multi-disciplinary roadblocks with special
focus on unroadworthy vehicles, drivers as well as the prevention of crime
where vehicles are used to perpetrate criminal activities.
