The purpose of the briefing will be to make a national call to all South
Africans to participate in the 30th Anniversary of June 16, 1976, activities
planned to take place throughout the country on Friday, 16 June 2006.
The Elkha Stadium is where the NYC is hosting a National Youth Service Expo.
Participating are government departments, state-owned enterprises, private
sector companies and youth non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to showcase
youth development initiatives. More than 1 000 young people from various
schools in and around Soweto visited the exhibition stands on the first day of
the Expo. More youth have been mobilised to attend in the next two days.
