The International Marketing Council of South Africa (IMC) is hosting a
National Communication Partnership Conference in Johannesburg on 15 August, to
bring together the country's marketers, communicators and other interested
stakeholders.
IMC CEO Ms Yvonne Johnston describes the conference as a âunique event
allowing all stakeholders to co-ordinate communication messages for 2010, to
explore marketing opportunities and partnerships, as well as to study the key
lessons from the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany.â
The one-day event will kick off the campaign to mobilise all those dedicated
to promoting South Africa in the four years leading up to 2010. Endorsed by the
Presidency, it will be the first in a series of official 2010 World Cup
National Communication Partnership Conferences, to be held annually in the
lead-up to 2010. The conference, scheduled to take place in Bryanston,
Johannesburg, will open with inputs from a number of high-profile speakers,
followed by outcomes-oriented working group discussions. A glittering gala
dinner will end proceedings.
Some of the confirmed speakers (and their topics) include Mr Jack Trout,
president of Trout & Partners Consulting: The branding and marketing
opportunity provided by a major event, Danny Jordaan, CEO 2010 Local Organising
Committee will provide clarity on the marketing opportunities for South African
corporates as well as Ms Yvonne Johnston, IMC CEO who will share on Brand South
Africa's future strategy and how South Africans can play a pivotal role in this
regard.
