Independent Electoral Commission to host municipal ward by-elections, 15

Municipal by-elections on 15 November 2006

Municipal ward by-elections will take place in KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng, North
West and the Western Cape on Wednesday, 15 November 2006, the Electoral
Commission said.

A total of 6 wards will be contested. Voting will take place in 28 voting
districts in the following wards:

* KwaZulu-Natal: Ward 4 in KZ5a5 - Ubuhlebezwe [Ixopo] Municipality with
3,113 registered voters, Ward 16 in KZ225 - Msunduzi [Pietermaritzburg]
Municipality with 6,107 registered voters and Ward 7 in KZ242 - Nqutu [Nqutu]
Municipality with 4,429 registered voters.
* Gauteng: Ward 37 in TSH - Tshwane Metro [Pretoria] with 15,806 registered
voters.
* North West: Ward 4 in NW383 - Mafikeng [Mafikeng] Municipality with 4,368
registered voters
* Western Cape: Ward 3 in WC044 - George [George] Municipality with 3,782
registered voters.
