Ms Jackie Manche, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Independent
Communications Authority of South Africa, reported for duty and resumed her
duties yesterday. This follows was her cautionary suspension last November on
the alleged violation of the Public Finance Management Act. The rationale for
her suspension was to allow investigations into the alleged violations to
proceed unhindered and without interference.
Charges have since been levelled against the CEO and there is no longer a
need for her to be suspended. However the disciplinary hearing will be
continuing until it is finalised by the Chairperson of the disciplinary
committee. ICASA has requested all staff and stakeholders to give Ms Manche all
the support she needs in order to fulfil her duties.
