The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) said today that the
floor-crossing window period for municipal councillors will end tonight at
24h00.
In terms of the legislation, the Electoral Commission has to publish a
Notice in the Government Gazette within seven days of the close of the window
period indicating the composition of affected municipal councils.
The Electoral Commission is likely to publish the Notice by Wednesday, 19
September 2007.
