You are invited by the Electoral Commission (IEC) to a national briefing
with youth structures at the Indaba Hotel in Fourways on Wednesday, 15 February
2006, at 9h00 in preparation of the 2006 Municipal Elections.
The IEC has noted with appreciation the constructive role played by the
youth sector in building our democracy in South Africa. They have assisted in
the past by informing and educating their communities as well as observing
elections.
It is against this background that the IEC deemed it necessary to invite
youth structures for a national briefing workshop primarily to ensure a better
understanding of participatory democracy and the role of the Local Government
in it. It is also hoped that the IEC will, through this workshop, strengthens
its strategic partnership with the youth structures in the country.
