Accreditation
Members of the media, who have already applied for accreditation for the
National Operations Centre in Pretoria, are welcome to collect their
accreditation cards at the Centre between 07h00 and 19h00 daily.
Accreditation issued for/at the NOC is only aimed at giving the media access
to this facility. Members of the media do not need accreditation to cover the
elections.
Please note: Cards must be collected in person.
Media representatives who will be using the National Operations Centre in
Pretoria and who have not yet applied for accreditation can do so at the Centre
between 07h00 and 19h00 daily.
Requirements for accreditation: Completed form, copy of first page of ID
Book, copy of press card/letter from the editor/station manager on letterhead
and electronic photograph.
The National Operations Centre is housed in Hall J at the Tshwane Events
Centre (old Pretoria Show Grounds), Pretoria West. Please use Gate 3, Soutter
Street for parking.
Pool Area at the Centre
The pool area will be equipped with computers, printing facilities and
telephones. Except for the telephones, these facilities will be available to
the media free of charge.
Telkom phone cards will be available in the Centre at normal rates.
Meals at the Centre
Meals will be available to media representatives free of charge. A schedule
will be forwarded by separate e-mail on which the number of meals required per
session should be indicated.
Media organisations who have more than one representative at the Centre at
meal times should fill in the schedule on behalf of all their staff rather than
individuals sending in their individual requirements. However, media
representatives who are the sole representatives of their organisations should
of course send through their requirements.
Since meals will be available from Monday, 27 February 2006, it will be
appreciated if the information would be forwarded to Lydia Young SOONEST at
youngl@elections.org.za.
PLEASE NOTE: The barcode on your accreditation card gives you access to the
Centre as well as to meals. So, no card, no entry and no FOOD!
Results System in the Centre
Media representatives will have direct access to the reports on the 2006
Municipal Elections Results System in the Centre.
Training on the system will take place in the Media Centre (next to the
