Under Service Area Licences are a new category of telecommunications
licences earmarked to provide telecommunications services in areas with a very
low penetration of telecommunications services. These licences encourage small
and emerging entrepreneurs to enter the lucrative telecommunications
market.
Under Service Area Licensees provide a range of telecommunications services,
including fixed mobile services, voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP), public
pay telephones and long distance calls to be transported through the trunk
networks of any operators licensed to carry international traffic.
