Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA)
holds public hearings for four year community sound broadcasting licence
applications in the nodal point areas

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) invites
members of the media and interested stakeholders to attend the public hearings
for four year community sound broadcasting licence applications in the
Sekhukhune Municipal

District as follows:
Date: Tuesday, 14; Wednesday, 15 & Thursday, 16 March 2006
Time: 09h00
Venue: Gerosi Lodge, Jane Furse

Following an invitation to apply for community radio licences in nodal
areas, ICASA received a total of 15 applications by the closing date on 30
October 2005. Licensing of community radio in rural and urban nodal points,
will contribute to the urban renewal and rural development programme of the
country.

Sekhukhune Municipal District is on of the 13 nodal areas identified in
terms of the Government’s Rural Integrated Development Strategy.
