closing date for the submission of applications for satellite and cable
subscription broadcasting services

Johannesburg â The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa
(Icasa) has extended the closing date for the submission of applications for
satellite and cable subscription broadcasting services by a month from 31 July
2006 to 31 August 2006.
The extension for the closing date was made with due consideration of the
coming into effect of the Electronic Communications Act (ECA) of 2005. The
extension would allow all applicants to reassess their respective applications
in terms of the ECA.
