I Matsepe-Casaburri on South African Post Office forensic report

Minister Matsepe-Casaburri expects forensic report to be ready
in March

27 February 2007

The final report from the investigation instituted by Communications
Minister, Dr Ivy Matsepe-Casaburri that looked at the corporate governance and
management issues at the South African Post Office, (SAPO) will be ready in the
first week of March, instead of the end of February as was initially
anticipated.

The delay stems from a few matters emanating from the investigation that
require some verification. The first draft report regarding corporate
governance issues was given to the Minister late last month. The final report
was to look at management issues.

Mr Andrew Maralack of the auditing firm, SizweNtsaluba VSP Forensics was
appointed to investigate SAPO. The scope of the investigation was to be
inclusive of, but not limited to, the allegations of all parties regarding
corporate governance issues, as well as management actions.

Upon receiving the report the Minister will apply her mind to the
recommendations and she will waste no time in implementing them.
