Housing, Mr Itumeleng Kotsoane, in a detailed policy breakfast discussion

The Director-General of the national Department of Housing, Mr Itumeleng
Kotsoane invites members of the Parliamentary Press Gallery for a breakfast
detailed discussion on the implementation of the Government Housing Programme
and new policy developments in the national Housing Department.
The Director-General will make a detailed presentation covering progress on
implementation of all areas of the 'Breaking New Ground' (BNG) project; new
policy developments to support the implementation of the BNG; measures to fight
fraud and corruption; progress on the establishment of a special purpose
vehicle to acquire land; banks commitment to release R42 billion towards
affordable housing; progress on the implementation of integrated housing
policy.
His presentation will also cover national, provincial and local government
capacity enhancement and progress on the implementation of the social contract
for rapid housing delivery. He will also announce the 1st Govan Mbeki Housing
awards to be held on 27 October 2006.
