KwaZulu-Natal Education MEC Ina Cronjé will be launching a "Schools and
Sustainability Professional Development Course for Teachers" tomorrow, 23 March
2006, at 1pm at Ushaka Marine World, Durban. The course, which has been
registered at Rhodes University as a 12-credit short course, was successfully
piloted with teachers from Durban during 2004 and a second group of teachers
completed the course in 2005.
The course has a resource-based learning approach to professional
development and teachers are required to work with materials focusing on Water,
Sanitation, Waste, Energy and Air.
