Home Affairs in Wynberg offices moves to a new area

23 June 2006

The Department of Home Affairs wishes to inform members of the public that
its service delivery point, Wynberg District Office (Chadwick and 5th Street)
in Gauteng has been closed with immediate effect.

The office has been closed following rental disagreements between the owner
of the building and the Department of Public Works.

Services previously offered at this office will now be provided at the
Rautenback and 4th Street in Wynberg. These premises will be occupied by the
Department as of 1 July 2006.

In line with the spirit of Batho Pele, the Department has as a temporary
measure deployed a Mobile Unit (from Friday, 23 June 2006) stationed opposite
the new building (in 4th Street Wynberg), to cater for distribution of forms
and related enquiries.

The collection of Identity Documents (IDs), passports, marriage, birth and
death certificates will be handled through the Randburg office, situated at 198
Hans Strijdom Drive, Strijdom Park.

The Department of Home Affairs apologises for the inconvenience that members
of the public may experience as a result of this development.
