The Department of Health would like to express its appreciation to the
National Association of People Living with HIV and AIDS (NAPWA) and members of
the public who organised and participated in a prayer session in support of the
Minister of Health, Dr Manto Tshabalala-Msimang, at Johannesburg General
Hospital today.
At the prayer meeting, NAPWA wished the Minister well and prayed for her
speedy recovery.
Minister Tshabalala-Msimang is being treated for anaemia and residual
pleural effusion. Her doctor indicated today that she is getting better.
However, she remains at the high care unit of the hospital in order to
facilitate appropriate haemodynamic monitoring.
