centre for official opening
29 May 2007
Outgoing North West Public Works MEC Howard Yawa is to handover a newly
built multi-million Health Centre to MEC for Health Nomonde Rasmeni for
official opening on Thursday, 31 May 2007 in Boitekong outside Rustenburg.
The modern facility is set to bring relief to the people of Boitekong and
surrounding areas including Sondela, Mereting, Paardekraal and Freedompark, who
have for many years struggled to get the much needed healthcare services as the
local clinic could not meet all their needs.
The clinic is only open during weekdays from 07h00 to 16h00, meaning that
residents who need medical attention outside these operating periods could not
access services. The new health centre is set to bring this to an end.
A tour of the facility for the 200 invited guests and the media follows the
short handover and official opening programme that is scheduled to commence at
09h00 at Boitekong Extension 13 Sports field in Ward 24.
Members of the media are invited to cover the event which will be MEC Yawa's
last official duty as MEC for Public Works before assuming office as MEC for
Developmental Local Government and Housing as from Friday, 1 June 2007.
