MEC Yawa to deliver departmental Budget Vote speech

North West MEC for Public Works, Howard Yawa is to deliver his 2007/08
departmental Budget Vote speech on Thursday, 10 May 2007, in the North West
Provincial Legislature.

The theme of the Budget Vote speech "Ascending to a New Height" follows on
last financial year's theme of "Making a Difference". The theme for the 2005/06
was "Denouncing Business as Usual".

In his forth Budget Vote speech MEC Yawa is expected to reflect on the
provincial achievements, challenges and strategies to accelerate job creation
through Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP).

In addition to reflection on departmental achievements and challenges over
the 2006/07 financial year and future plans, MEC Yawa will use the opportunity
to announce major interventions towards massification of EPWP, roll-out of the
National Youth Service (NYS) programme and public infrastructure delivery
programme.

Members of the media are invited to cover the event which is scheduled for
09h00, at the North West Provincial Legislature Chamber in Mmabatho.

According to the rules of the legislature, all attendants to the legislature
proceedings are expected to be seated by 8h45 before the delivery of the
speech.
