Government to host Imbizo Focus Week, 26 to 31 Oct

The National Imbizo Week officially starts tomorrow

Government will officially kick off the National Imbizo Week tomorrow, 26 to
31 October 2006, with several ministers, deputy ministers, MECs, mayors,
municipal managers and councillors visiting and interacting with communities
across the country on wide-ranging issues relating to government’s Programme of
Action, with particular focus on Second Economy interventions.

The Imbizo focus week will seek to profile government's second economy
programmes at all government levels while calling on the local communities to
take opportunities to change their lives.

The majority of events will take place within the broader framework of the
Accelerated and Shared Growth Initiative for South Africa (AsgiSA) for
communities to acquire better and relevant skills in order to partner with
government to grow the economy by 6% where all shall share.

The following National Imbizo Week events will take place tomorrow, 26
October 2006. Further information may be obtained from the ministerial
spokespersons and contact persons.

Event: Minister visiting Ndindani Combined School
Venue: Ndindani School, Nkomazi Local Municipality
Political principal: Minister Thoko Didiza to address and encourage pupils to
pursue academic careers in the field as architect, quantity surveyor, property
evaluator, engineer. The Minister will however be inaugurated as the patron of
the school.
