During the week of 6 â 13 April 2006 government will deploy various
ministers, deputy ministers, MECs and premiers to interact with communities and
their newly elected local leaders as part of the national Imbizo Focus Week.
These visits are aimed at assessing progress made in service delivery as well
as to assist municipalities in finding and implementing ways for accelerating
delivery as part of a national effort for faster and shared growth.
The Focus Week programme will be available from tomorrow at http://www.info.gov.za and media interested in
conducting interviews with any of the government leaders who will be visiting
municipalities during the Focus Week can contact their respective ministerial
liaison officers.
