The people of Ekurhuleni can take comfort from the Gauteng Provincial
Government's decision to build a new hospital worth about R1 billion in
Vosloorus, Extension 14.

The Gauteng Department of Public Transport, Roads and Works will soon
commence with works to build a new 760 bed hospital. A site handover will take

Works, Ignatius Jacobs, said "this shows the commitment of a caring government
towards building safe and sustainable communities in our province."

The site comprises 12.71 ha located on the eastern edge of Vosloorus, where
the new hospital rendering level one and two service and a comprehensive
primary care service unit will be built. The construction of the project is to
be in two phases:

26 April 2006.

* New Hospital, site works and access road upgrades is limited to 30 months.
