Gauteng leaders saddened by death of Ellen Kuzwayo

The Gauteng Executive Council (Exco)and Executive Mayors meeting at a
retreat learned with shock and sadness news of the death of anti-apartheid
veteran and activist Dr Ellen Kuzwayo.
Ellen Kuzwayo spoke out against the denial of a decent education to black
children and stopped teaching in protest at the introduction of Bantu
education.
Her contribution will be sorely missed as we prepare to celebrate the 30th
anniversary of the June 16 uprisings.
The Gauteng Exco and Executive Mayors expressed their heartfelt condolences
to Kuzwayo's family and friends.
