All media interested in covering the commemorations of the 30th anniversary
of the 1976 uprisings on 16 June are requested to apply for accreditation
before 15h30 Thursday, 8 June 2006.
The event will include a march from Morris Isaacson High School, a
wreath-laying at the Hector Pieterson memorial and a mass rally at Soccer City
(FNB) to be addressed by President Thabo Mbeki.
Please ensure that you include the following details when you call or
e-mail:
* Your name as it appears in your ID Book
* ID number
* Work and cellphone numbers
* An e-mail address or fax number
* Designation (photographer / cameraperson / writer etc)
* Whether you wish to be part of media pool for the march and wreath
laying.
Please also note that a media briefing on the preparations for the event and
site visit will be held on Tuesday, 13 June. All media wishing to participate
should meet at Soccer City (FNB) at 10h00.
Accreditation will be issued from 12 to 15 June between 09h00 and 16h00 at
the Johannesburg Metropolitan Centre, 1st floor, 158 Loveday Street Ext.,
Braamfontein.
