Following the successful hosting of the stakeholder interaction session last
week, the Gauteng Liquor Licensing Office continues to receive input from
members of public on the proposed Gauteng Liquor Policy.
The Head of liquor licensing in Gauteng, Kenneth Mapengo, said during the
stakeholder interaction session, they received valuable input from a number of
stakeholders on the Gauteng policy. "Even as I speak, we are receiving
submissions from stakeholders on how to enhance our liquor policy," he said.
Submissions from stakeholders will be incorporated in the final Liquor
Policy.
The Gauteng Liquor Policy will provide a framework for the regulation of the
liquor industry in Gauteng. It will lay the basis for the Gauteng Liquor Act,
which is currently being revised.
Mapengo said the closing date for submissions is Friday, 10 November
2006.
Written submissions can be dropped of at the regional offices of the Gauteng
Liquor Licensing Offices.
